  • Louisiana Tech University seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor of Sociology. Tenure track, nine-month position. Review of applications begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Starting date: September 1, 2026. We seek applicants with evidence of successful teaching and scholarship in criminology or a closely related field to support our sociology undergraduate program and forensic psychology certificate. Specialization in a field of digital criminology (e.g., social media crime, cybercrime, online victimization, online communities) is a plus. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic unit that prioritizes interdisciplinary teaching and research collaboration between the humanities and social sciences. The candidate will have the opportunity to teach existing elective criminology courses within the sociology major (e.g., Juvenile Delinquency, Sociology of Deviance, Introduction to Criminal Justice), as well as Research Methods and Introduction to Sociology. In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a new interdisciplinary media studies graduate program. The normal teaching load is three courses per quarter. A strong commitment to exemplary teaching at the undergraduate level, scholarship/research activity, and good interpersonal and collegial skills are expected.
  • LEHIGH UNIVERSITY-The Department of Sociology & Anthropology is seeking to fill the position of Lucy G. Moses Endowed Chair Distinguished Professor of Sociology at the rank of full professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. While the area of specialization is open, we are looking for a candidate who will complement our department's existing strengths; potential interest(s) include, but are not limited to, social and cultural change, inequality, migration, environment, civil society, and/or population. Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in Sociology. The selected candidate is expected to carry a standard teaching load of 2/2, maintain an active program of research, and engage in university and departmental service commensurate with their seniority.
  • The Department of Sociology at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, seeks applicants for Quarterly Lecturer (non-tenure track) positions to teach courses in Community and Society, Introduction to Sociology, and International and Global Sociology, Law and Society, among other potential openings. Specific assignments will be made according to the academic qualifications of the individual and programmatic need. Santa Clara University is on the quarter system, and the quarters are 10 weeks long with an 11th week for final examinations. This is an applicant pool; as such, positions are hired as needed. The successful candidate will teach no more than 2 courses in any quarter and no more than four courses over the fall, winter and spring quarters. All classes will be presented in- person, however, if the county health and university health conditions deteriorate, the successful candidate may be asked to teach part of the course online.

  • The Institute for Social Research and Data Innovation at the University of Minnesota seeks a Senior Data Analyst to oversee the implementation of data management for all aims of two federal grants. The Senior Data Analyst will collaborate on a recently funded National Institutes of Health (NIH) study focused on the influence of housing policy and neighborhood environment on health, including fertility, infant, maternal health and mortality, among families across generations. This position will work closely with the project’s Principal Investigator, scientific team, and staff. This position will also collaborate with student research assistants and postdoctoral associates. Data for these projects is accessed through the Federal Statistical Research Data Center (FSRDC), which requires the selected candidate to either already have or be willing and able to obtain Special Sworn Status. The FSRDC is located on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, and the selected candidate will be required to work on campus 4 days a week.

The Assistant Director for Data Sciences Services combines advanced quantitative expertise with infrastructure development and research support. The position focuses on designing and managing secure data ecosystems, restricted-use data workflows, and analytical pipelines that transform complex administrative and survey data into evidence-based insights. Working in close partnership with faculty researchers and University technology and compliance offices, this role contributes to the long-term sustainability and scalability of population science at Notre Dame. The Assistant Director supports multidisciplinary scholarship addressing issues such as poverty, inequality, migration, aging, fertility, and health disparities while advancing best practices in reproducible research, data stewardship, and policy-relevant analytics. This is a four-year limited-term position with the possibility of extension.
  • Lone Star College seeks applicants for an Adjunct Faculty position in Sociology. It is the responsibility of the teaching faculty to provide the learning activities and support that will lead to the achievement of the course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning. Adjunct faculty are hired in a part-time capacity on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon the needs of the System. We offer day, evening, and weekend classes. Classes are offered at various times and locations during the academic year.   • The Kinder Institute for Urban Research (KIUR) at Rice University is seeking a full-time Researcher to join its Houston Population Research Center (HPRC). The HPRC houses the Kinder Institute’s demography and survey work, which includes the Greater Houston Community Panel and the Kinder Houston Area Survey - the longest-running survey of any major metropolitan area in the nation. Recent HPRC research includes the 2025 Kinder Houston Area Survey, an Achievement Study examining outcomes across Houston communities, and a Disaster Recovery Study focused on post-storm impacts and recovery. The Researcher will work with the survey team on a statewide panel, as well as coordinate with research happening locally in the Houston area. The Researcher may also supervise junior research staff.  Individuals with experience and expertise in designing and programming surveys, cleaning and curating survey data, and developing and conducting survey research projects are encouraged to apply.
