The National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect (NDACAN) was recently renewed as the one Administration for Children, Youth, and Families-funded repository for data on child abuse and neglect, as well as Child Protectives Services contact. In addition to holding some of the best longitudinal data on these topics, including the National Survey on Child and Adolescent Well-Being (NSCAW), the archive also holds key administrative data on children’s contact with the foster care system, the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting (AFCARS) data, and children’s contact with CPS, the National Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS). The project will be a collaboration between Duke University (Director Chris Wildeman, PI), Cornell University (Co-Director Maria Fitzpatrick, Co-PI), the University of California-San Francisco (Co-Director Erin McCauley, Co-PI), and Mathematica (Mary Grinder, Co-PI).
