Duke University Population Research Institute

The Duke University Population Research Institute (DUPRI) is a community of scholars who challenge the boundaries of interdisciplinary population research with cutting edge approaches to prepare the next generation of leaders in population science.

DUPRI is anchored by two federally funded centers: the Duke Population Research Center (DPRC), supported by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development NICHD P2C Center Grant, and the Duke Center for Population Health and Aging (CPHA), supported by a P30 Center Grant from the National Institutes on Aging (NIA).

Utilizing multidisciplinary synergy and collaboration, DUPRI assembles Duke University researchers from the biological, economic, mathematical, psychological, statistical, sociological and policy sciences to expand the frontiers of demographic investigation. As the organizational unit for population research at Duke, DUPRI also offers administrative support and a research infrastructure for the university’s population scientists.

Seminar Series

The Seminar Series is a weekly lecture series that features Duke scholars as well as nationally and internationally recognized population researchers.

The seminars not only showcase important population science research from around the globe, but also provide opportunities for Duke faculty and students to meet with featured or visiting scholars and discuss their work, receive feedback on their own research and lay the groundwork for future collaborative projects.
