Duke Alzheimer’s Progression Index: Development of Software for Clinical Applications
This pilot study focuses on developing computer software that aids the study of the rate of progression of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) among individuals with an AD diagnoses. Through the application of the Grade of Membership (GoM), the Sullivan Life Table (SLT) models and relevant panel data, previous studies produced prototypical progression trajectories for four AD subtypes. These prototypical trajectories are used to estimate the timing of impaired functioning and expected rates of survival for individuals with AD.

The goal of this study is to write a computer software program that is based on the estimated GoM and SLT model subtypes, and input data from clinical office testing that generates personalized estimates for individual patients with an AD diagnosis.
