Duke is an exciting place to study population science. Students have the chance to train with top population scientists who possess a wide set of disciplinary backgrounds and an even wider set of research interests. DUPRI students are currently gaining intense research experience here in the US and throughout the world. Our students have the opportunity to obtain cutting edge empirical skills as well as to develop deep substantive knowledge in important areas of population science in biology, economics, psychology, and sociology.
DUPRI currently offers formal training in population at both the graduate and postgraduate level in the social, medical, and economic demography of aging via an NIA- funded training grant. Students and postdoctoral scholars interested in studying aging may apply for admission to one of the limited number of positions in this program. For more information about this program, see our T32 Demography of Aging training page.
